Dan Leidl
Dan Leidl is a native of Long Island, New York. At Drew University, he received the team MVP award as well as being named All-Conference in the Conference, graduating in 1997. Coach Leidl also played for the New Jersey/Anaheim Storm, of the National Lacrosse League, from 2001 to 2004, was a member of the 2003 United States National Indoor Lacrosse Team, and has been an active defenseman with the Irish National Lacrosse Team since 2002, being named a captain in 2006. Aside from Dan’s outstanding playing career he has been very active as a coach on many different levels. Coach Leidl was an assistant coach for the men’s programs at Tufts University and Colby College. He was also the assistant coach, for four seasons, at C.W. Post’s women’s program where he coached several player of the year recipients, first team All-Americans and defender of the year recipients. On the national level Dan was an assistant coach for the 2007 United States Indoor Lacrosse Team and is the current head coach for the women’s Irish National Lacrosse Team. He has led this team in the 2008 Women’s European Championships as well as the 2009 Women’s World Cup. Coach Leidl currently resides in Westover, WV with his wife and son and is very active in progressing lacrosse in the state of West Virginia.
